About Us

A few years ago, owner Tashia Small baked a cake for her favorite set of twins for their birthday party. The cake was gobbled up in no time and throughout the crowd comments such as "You should do this for a living", "This cake would've cost a fortune in a store", as well as countless others surfaced, and with those comments a seed was planted.

Over the next few months and years Tashia baked more and more throwing in the occasional pie, batch of cookies, and of course cupcakes for friends and family to enjoy. After everyone licked their plates clean again would come the comments about how she should do this for a living. The little seed kept growing and growing.

Fast forward to May 31, 2007. 

After another restless night of random dreams she finally decided to analyze those dreams. The symbols in her dreams meant that she needed to focus on a new idea and put her energy into something. What it was she wasn't quite able to determine yet but she knew it would come to her. She began baking a batch of her infamous chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and it hit her. Literally. The container of flour hit her but still, she had the idea. She'd open a bakery. After discussing the idea with some friends, some opposed and some were shocked she hadn't come up with this before. She began planning and researching and voilá Simple Sweets Bakery was born!
